Jurassic World - They're Dinosaurs... Wow Enough?
These words are uttered by Chris
Pratt’s character in response to ‘corporate’ and their notion that it now takes
having to create a genetically modified hybrid super
dinosaur to satiate the current seen-it-all-before dinosaur theme park visiting
audience. Just regular old dinosaurs don't cut the mustard anymore.
Although undoubtedly also an intentional sly dig
by the filmmakers at the state of Hollywood blockbusters today, Jurassic World itself unfortunately falls into the same trap itself, both in terms of
its content and delivery.

Mad Max: Fury Road - The Fast and the Furiosa
I would like to preface this by

Max franchise. People mostly just seem to remember the kitch weirdness of
the latter films: Master Blaster, Tina Turner, “Two men enter… one man leaves…”
and so on…

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Bigger and Badder?
It’s a fact. The Avengers was massive.
Let’s not wax on about how just how much this
sequel, Age of Ultron, had to live up
to. The huge weight of expectation behind it - not just as a sequel to a box
office hit – but also as the benchmark for Superhero ‘event’ movies has been
raised pretty damn high in the interim, with the likes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy being particular standouts.

So it’s Oscar season…
Not that I really care about the Oscars and all
of that – but it just so happens that the last three films that I watched at
the cinema have been recently announced on the Oscars noms list.
